Turkish Property Destinations Çesme One of Twelve Top Locations

K. Lake Iznik
Relatively few foreigners venture out to Lake that is beautiful Iznik even though it’s only a couple of hours’ ferry/car
journey far from Istanbul. Fringed by reeds and ringed by hills, the still, clear waters of the lake are a
delight for bird-watchers. The old, walled town of this same title, at the eastern end regarding the pond, is a laid-back
place serving the neighborhood agricultural community (olives are big company here) and Istanbulites escaping the big city.
Famed for the council that is ecumenical happened right here in 325, a defining moment in the growth of Christianity
(proven to posterity due to the fact Council of Nicaea), its home to a Roman theater, Byzantine churches and Ottoman mosques.

The delta for the lazy, meandering Dalyan river, is certainly one of Turkey’s natural wonders. Not least because it comes to an end perhaps not in
some fetid swamp, but during the white bend of dazzling Iztuzu coastline, a significant nesting website of the loggerhead turtle.
The new waters of the river mean the certain area is abundant with wildlife. Significantly more than 150 bird types can here be found,
including pelicans and kingfishers. Dalyan town has retained much of its village charm, there’s the well-preserved
ancient site of Kaunos to check out just across the river, as well as the health-giving (and fun!) mudbaths of Köycegiz.
